Bespoke Music
I enjoy writing music which is specific to an event, a person, an institution or a group; music which can be performed and heard in everyday circumstances. I try to compose music which is accessible, tuneful, even light and, above all, effective.
I have composed for a wide variety of ensembles, ranging from solo instrument to full symphony orchestra, as well as chamber and choral groups. Performances of my works have been enthusiastically received by performers (amateur and professional) and audiences alike. That is the true reward of composing, and something on which I plan to build in the coming years.
Have you ever considered having music composed specially for you? Probably not! After all, where do you go, who do you ask, how much will it all cost? Even trying to describe what music you want can seem difficult.....
I'm in a particularly good position to offer this service. I'm a professionally trained composer who chose not to pursue a musical career. I don't rely on music for my living (thanks be) and am able to offer publication-quality pieces, written to your specification, without charging you anything! There are many examples on this site; you can judge the quality and variety of my work for yourself.
